Mozilla Firefox versus Internet Explorer
by Kimberly Dhority - Sunday, 22 January 2012, 04:00 PM

Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer are both web browsers--both of these programs allow you to view the Internet. There are some instances that Moodle does not work well with Internet Explorer. My suggestion is that you download Mozilla Firefox and install it on your computer to use with Moodle. Mozilla is a free, open source program. It will not cost you anything to load it to your computer. I use Mozilla almost exclusively when I am on the Internet. I find that it moves quicker and I have less issues with it. Click here to download it to your computer. Please let me know if you have any questions kdhority@fhtc.edu

Coming Soon for Fall 2012
by Steven Harmon - Monday, 9 January 2012, 01:20 PM

FHTC will be upgrading our Online Learning Managment System during the 2011-2012 academic year. Here are a few upgrades to look for:

Moodle 2.1 - Currently we are on version 1.9 and will keep Moodle 1.9 active for the rest of the year. We will establish a separate server for users of Moodle 2.1. When it is up and instructors are ready we can start new classes and move classes to 2.1. Bottom line is that your courses are in the same location with no changes this year until you are ready to make the move.

Adobe Connect Pro: Coming this fall students and faculty will have access to real-time video conferencing, lecture and faculty/student meetings with integrated Adobe Connect Pro. This webinar software requires no hardware and runs through your browser.

Turnitin: Student wishing to avoid plagarism and faculty wishing to check for plagarism will have acces to Turnitin.com. This website is easy to use for students and faculty.
